GET LOST IN THE TROPICS

Our natural world is so mind-bogglingly diverse – and you can get a taste of just how many creatures we share our planet with by visiting our Tropical House!

From crocodiles and Burmese pythons to poison dart frogs and leaf cutter ants, there are so many creatures to gawp at in this bright, busy greenhouse enclosure. And that’s without mentioning the hundreds of butterflies that flutter around our tropical zone, all day, every day!

A SAMPLE OF SPECIES

Butterflies are not just pretty! They are highly sensitive indicators of the health of the environment and play crucial roles in the food chain as well as being pollinators of plants.

Dart Frogs are incredibly poisonous…. But only in the wild! There are centipedes in the rainforest that make them poisonous! Fun Fact, the brighter the frog, the more poisonous!

Burmese Pythons were a donation from a pet rescue centre! That’s right, someone kept a 16 ft python in their house! But soon realised she was too much to handle. Always do you research before buying exotic pets!
