This is your chance to get up close and personal with our incredible Zebra Shark and graceful Cownose Rays in a truly unforgettable underwater encounter!
Upon arrival, you will meet one of our friendly, experienced keepers at our customer service desk. They will escort you above our spectacular Ocean Tank and guide you through a full health and safety briefing before your experience begins.
During your visit, you’ll learn all about the fascinating behaviours, feeding habits and natural habitat of our Ocean animals. Our keeper will share expert insight into how our sharks and rays live together in this unique underwater world, and will be on hand to answer any questions you have along the way.
The highlight of your experience is getting the chance to help feed our Zebra Shark and Cownose Rays, while watching them glide up close beneath you in the Ocean Tank. It’s a rare and memorable moment that brings you even closer to these amazing animals, alongside a unique behind-the-scenes perspective of their care.
We want you to make the most of your visit, so feel free to take plenty of photos to capture these incredible moments!
As part of your experience, you’ll receive Sealife Adventure Day Entry, giving you the opportunity to explore and enjoy our Zooquarium before and after your booked experience.

- The experience will start at 2:45pm, please arrive no later than 2:15pm. You can arrive earlier to enjoy the aquarium before meeting the sharks & rays.
- The experience will accommodate 2 to 5 people (minimum of 2).
- Children under 16 will need to be accompanied by a paying adult.
- Closed toe shoes (trainers, boots, wellies) must be worn.
- All guests receive a Shark & Ray experience certificate
- Minimum guest age 8 years old.
Whilst every effort is made to plan experiences around our animals’ routines, participation depends on their natural behaviour and cannot be guaranteed. If an animal chooses not to participate, for example during nesting or moulting, we may need to reschedule the experience to an alternative date and time, subject to availability. Rescheduling may not always be possible, and by booking you acknowledge that feeding the animals cannot be guaranteed.
Please be aware that the Ocean Tank is not wheelchair accessible, and participants must be able to stand comfortably without the aid of walking devices. We also advise that pregnant women do not take part in this experience.

Shark and Ray Experience FAQs
How long is the experience?
Our Shark and Ray Experience begins at 2:45pm and lasts approximately 30 minutes. Please ensure you arrive by 2:15pm, at least 30 minutes prior to the experience start time.
Is there a minimum age to take part?
Guests must be aged 8 or over to take part in the experience, please note that guests under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
How many people can take part?
Our Shark and Ray Experiences can accommodate 2-5 guests, please note there is a minimum of two guests per booking.
Is there a dress code?
Closed toe shoes MUST be worn (trainers, boots wellies). A lifejacket will be provided which must be worn for the duration of the experience.
Can I take photos?

Our Shark and Ray Experience takes place above our Ocean Tunnel, where you will be on a floating platform in the tank. When feeding the animals you will be using a pair of tongs, you are not in direct contact with the animals at any time.
Do I need to be able to swim?
You do not need to be able to swim to participate in this experience, guests do not enter the water at any point. A lifejacket will be provided for you which must be worn for the duration of the experience.
Is the experience wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, our Shark and Ray Experience is not wheelchair accessible and guests must be able to stand comfortably without the aid of walking devices.
What kind of sharks and rays will I be feeding?
We have a Zebra shark and 4 Cownose rays!
Where do I check in when I arrive?
Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before your booking time and head to our reception desk and let our team know you have booked a Shark and Ray Experience. Arriving later than your scheduled time will result in the feed going ahead without you.
Do Annual Pass holders get a discount?
Sealife Adventure and Adventure Island Annual Pass holders get 50% off all animal experiences! Book with this discount using the Annual Pass holder booking link on the experience page. Annual Pass holders can also book animal experiences as a gift for family and friends using their discount.
What will I be feeding the sharks and rays?
Our sharks and rays have a varied diet meaning they eat different things every day. This includes Sardines, Mackerel, Prawns, Saury and squid.
Is the experience private or will it be shared with other guests?
Our Shark and Ray Experiences are private bookings and you will not be joined by other guests.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Our Shark and Ray Experiences take place indoors so no need to worry about the rain!

Will I get to ask the keeper questions during the experience?
All of our keepers are extremely knowledgeable and are more than happy to answer any questions you have.
Will I get a certificate after the experience?
All guests will receive a souvenir certificate after completing the experience.
