Meet the Meerkats
Sealife Adventure offers you the chance to get up close and personal with these furry friends by feeding our meerkats in a fully hands-on environment.
This experience is perfect for everyone. Families, Nan and Grandad, groups of friends, couples and more with lots of opportunities for you to take some fantastic photos!
Your experience will start at our Customer Services desk. You will go through the safety rules and then make your way to the enclosure. From here, you will be introduced to one of our experienced keepers, who will escort you into our meerkat enclosure. Throughout your experience you will learn all about the animals so you’ll leave with a brilliant understanding of what life is like for these family-friendly favourites.
As part of your experience, you’ll receive Sealife Adventure Day Entry, giving you the opportunity to explore and enjoy our Zooquarium before and after your booked experience.
Price for annual pass holders
£60 for 2 people with an Annual Pass,
£30 for an additional person.

- The experience will be held at 1:30pm. Please arrive no later than 1:00pm.
- You can arrive earlier to enjoy the aquarium before meeting the meerkats.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Minimum guest age of 5 years old.
- All guests receive a meerkat experience certificate.
- Closed toe shoes (trainers, boots, wellies) must be worn.
- We recommend no exposed skin below the waist (a blanket will be provided for your lap if skin is exposed).
- Minimum of 2 people
- Maximum of 6 people, with 3 people feeding at one time.
- Between the ages of 5-16 we operate on a 2-1 ratio of children to adults.
Our meerkat enclosure is not wheelchair accessible. If you require assistance entering the enclosure, please contact us ahead of your booking to discuss further. We also advise that pregnant women do not take part in this experience.
We want you to make the most out of this very unique experience and so take as many pictures as you’d like!
Be warned, these furry friends will have their eyes on you and might even use you as a climbing frame!
Important: As part of the experience you will be handling live mealworms – our meerkats’ favourite treat!
Meerkats Experience FAQs
How long is the experience?
Our Meerkat Experience starts at 13:30pm and 15:50pm and last for around 30 minutes. Please ensure to arrive no later than 30 minutes before your booking time.
Is there a minimum age to take part?
Guests must be aged 5 or over to take part in the experience, please note that guests under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. For guests aged 5-16 we operate on a 2:1 ratio for children to adults.
How many people can take part?
Our Meerkat Experiences can accommodate 2-6 people, with 3 guests feeding at any time.
Is there a dress code?
Closed toe shoes MUST be worn (trainers, boots, wellies) and we recommend that any skin below the waist is covered, we can provide a towel for your lap if any skin is exposed.
Can I take photos?
We want you to make the most of this unique experience so take as many photos as you like!
How close will I get to the animals?
Our Meerkat Experiences take place in our meerkat enclosure – be warned, these furry friends will have their eyes on you and might even use you as a climbing frame!
Is the experience wheelchair accessible?
Our meerkat enclosure is not wheelchair accessible. If you require assistance entering the enclosure, please contact us ahead of your booking to discuss further. There is a bench located inside the meerkat enclosure so guests are able to sit for the duration on the experience.
Where do I check in when I arrive?
Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before your booking time and head to our reception desk and let our team know you have booked a Meerkat Experience. Arriving later than your scheduled time will result in the feed going ahead without you.
Do Annual Pass holders get a discount?
Sealife Adventure and Adventure Island Annual Pass holders get 50% off all animal experiences! Book with this discount using the Annual Pass holder booking link on the experience page. Annual Pass holders can also book animal experiences as a gift for family and friends using their discount.
What will I be feeding the meerkats?
During the experience you will be feeding our meerkats some yummy mealworms!
Is the experience private or will it be shared with other guests?
Our Meerkat Experiences are private bookings and you will not be joined by other guests. Please note the experience takes place in the meerkat enclosure so can be viewed by guests.
Can I touch the meerkats?
Whilst super cute and fluffy, our meerkats are still wild animals and we kindly ask guests not to touch them during the experience to avoid them confusing your fingers for a snack!
What happens if the weather is bad?
Our Meerkats need feeding no matter the weather!
I need to cancel or change my booking?

Will I get to ask the keeper questions during the experience?
All of our keepers are extremely knowledgeable and are more than happy to answer any questions you have.
Will I get a certificate after the experience?
All guests will receive a souvenir certificate after completing the experience.
