Sealife Adventure offers students a great learning experience!
Not only can they learn about the fascinating world that lies in our planet’s oceans and seas, but you can use our curriculum based school pack to help make learning maths, science, and other subjects much more fun.
Marine life includes sharks, rays, eels, tropical and native fish lobsters and a crocodile just to name a few. The is also a ‘Hands-on’ Rockpool encounter where guests will have the opportunity to get close and personal with our starfish and crabs. Upon booking an educational or group booking we will provide a personal, private Rockpool encounter for no additional cost.
Our educational visits expand the boundaries of the classroom to experience the marine world close up. Education and entertainment go hand in hand with our ‘close encounter’ talks and feeds. With our curriculum based education packs, you will find plenty of follow-up class and homework projects.
With our pre-school, Infant, Primary and junior school bookings we do not charge you for the teachers and supervisory adults that accompany the children (this does not apply to our standard Group Bookings). We are aware that children sometimes work more productively in smaller groups with an adult. We want your entire group to get the most out of the visit as possible, therefore you are entitled to as many adults you feel necessary. (As long as the number of adults does not exceed that of the children*). For senior schools two teachers are free per 15 students.

How the day works
Upon arrival the teacher/group leader in charge of the trip will check in at the Customer Services desk. Once checked in the wristband team staff will give everyone a wristband to allow you all day access to the aquarium. The best place to wristband the children is on the seawall next to our building, or if weather is bad we can come on to the coach.
We will also sort out a time slot for your ‘hands-on’ Rockpool encounter. This maybe before or after your lunch and you will get a time slot per class.
The aquarium takes about 45 minutes to an hour to walk around, but with your private ‘Hands-on’ Rockpool encounter and the other talks and feeds throughout the day the amount of time you stay is up to you. Many schools visit us in the morning, take advantage of the neighbouring beach for activities and visit us again before the coach picks them up.
We conduct our own risk assessments and provide guidance for teachers, which can be downloaded, but we do encourage teachers to make a preview visit before bringing a group.
Teacher preview visits
In order to make the most of your school visit we recommend that you take advantage of one of our free teacher preview visits to familiarise yourself with the exhibits and our facilities. Bring the slip from your booking email and present it at the customer services desk to gain access to the aquarium and a run through of how your booking will run on the day.
(Please note: School I.D. must be shown and the teacher attending the preview visit, limited to 1 per class, must attend on the day of your visit)
The gift Shop Area
A wide variety of gifts are available from our gift shop, with items from 50p upwards (subject to availability).
To remove the added stress of supervising a class of children through the gift shop we offer a ready-made gift bag service. You can either choose the contents during your pre visit, over the phone or on the day of your visit. Prices for this will vary depending upon availability, and we will be happy to assist in selecting appropriate items for your group. We also have a Rock and Ice cream offer for £2.00 per child, each child will receive a small ice cream and small rock. We also have an offer for an individual ice cream offer for just £1.25 each. These can either be paid for by cash or card on the day or added to your invoice and paid for 10 days in advance with the entrance.
Bags and Belongings
Bags and belongings can be stored, usually in your eating area, this is subject to availability.
